William Kolens, age 85, both loved and respected by his family and friends. Bill passed away October 8, 2005. Native of South Chicago, IL, long time resident of Waukegan, IL and Lake Bluff, IL. Resident of Tucson, AZ since 1983. All-state in football at Waukegan Township High School; football letterman and graduate of University of Illinois; commissioned Navy pilot in World War II, served in South Pacific from 1942-1945; 33 year career in management with Illinois Bell Telephone Company. Survived by wife Sue; father of Katherine Kolens of Sevierville, Susan (Robert) Maciolek of Milwaukee, Sally (Michael) Patterson of Wheaton, William Paul (Kim) Kolens of Brecksville; grandfather of Benjamin and Kate Patterson of Chicago; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Service at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 13, at Adair Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Tucson, AZ 520-742-7901
