Richard “Dick” Olson, of Northbrook, age 73, beloved husband of Carol; dedicated father to Cathleen (Ahmed) Hamili, David (Lauri) and Brian (Marcia); proud grandfather of Mollie, Samantha, Robin, Amar and Iman. Dick graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1949 and St. Thomas University in 1953 before serving with the U.S. Army’s 427th Engineers in Erlangin Germany. After retiring from a career in construction with Drywall Interiors and W.A. Duguid Contruction Co., Dick volunteered at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, the Northbrook Police Department, and the Northbrook Leisure Center. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, who will always remember him for his sense of humor, compassion and kindness. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2005 at Our Lady of the Brook in Northbrook, 3700 Dundee Road.
