In the wake of ALCS Game 2, some Sox fans and media are becoming overly “Cubbie-ized”–the dreaded disease of sensationalizing the significance of every unusual play or controversial call.
I beg all, including North Siders rooting for the team from Chicago, to stop the insanity! These guys are major-league ballplayers who have been dealing with bad calls and other assorted baseball oddities since they were playing T-ball.
What happened in Game 2 is no more associated with the Sox “destiny” than it would have been a curse had the situation been reversed.
Boston proved last year that curses do not exist, and that a little luck and a lot of mental toughness are what really wins championships.
