Dr. Jack Arbit, beloved husband of the late Sandra, nee Dwork, for over 50 years; beloved father of Terry and Matthew; grandfather of four; son of the late Chaim and Laika Arbit, nee Mashman; and taker of the annual 4th of July hook-shot, of kidney failure, in Highland Park, IL. A psychologist specializing in neuropsychological disorders, Dr. Arbit was a professor at Northwestern University’s Medical School and also maintained a thriving private practice. He was called upon as a consultant to several government agencies and as an expert witness in dozens of legal matters. In addition, Dr. Arbit served in the Army’s Special Services Unit in the 1950’s and was elected to the local School District Board in Highland Park in the 1970’s.
