John A. Dolina, passed away peacefully October 12, 2005 in his home at Bethlehem Woods in LaGrange Park, with his daughters at his side. He was 94, born April 8, 1911 in Chicago. John had been a longtime resident of Evergreen Park. John was a loving and devoted father to his two daughters, Ann Kathryn Brand of Naperville, IL and Mary Ellen (William) Kopetz of Lancaster, PA; loving grandfather of Patricia (James) Nalepa, Robert (Mary) Brand II, David Brand, Amy Kopetz, Raegan (Eli) Peters, Chase (Kim) Kopetz; dearest great-grandfather of Maximillian, Jacqueline and James Nalepa, Jordyn Marie Brand, Rylie Morgan Brand, and Carson and Brady Kopetz. He retired from American Maize Products Company in Roby, IN, (now Cerestar USA, Inc.) after 35 years. He was a member of Most Holy Redeemer Parish in Evergreen Park for over 50 years, a member of the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Bernardin Council No. 324, and also the Croation Fraternal Union of America. John graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1928, and attended Loyola University. He will be dearly missed by his loving family, dear cousins and many friends, especially Mathilda Martin, Joseph Kaye, Edward (Beverly) Kaye, and his devoted caregiver Romas Grinius. He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Anna Dolina. Visitation Sunday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. A visitation will continue on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel, 1515 W. Ogden Ave., LaGrange Park. Family and friends will meet Monday for 11 a.m. Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Church, 96th and Lawndale Ave., Evergreen Park, followed by Interment at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Thomas Hospice, 8230 S. Madison St., Burr Ridge, IL, 60527 or Mount Carmel High School, 6410 S. Dante Ave., Chicago, IL 60637-3896 would be appreciated.
