With second place in the Central Suburban South on the line–as well as better positioning in the state playoff picture–New Trier fell behind early before righting itself and pulling away to defeat Glenbrook South 37-24 Saturday.

After falling into a 14-0 hole in the game’s first 8 minutes 25 seconds due to a pair of miscues, the Trevians (6-2, 3-1) reeled off 21 straight points and secured the victory with three interceptions in the final eight minutes.

Leading 24-17 at the half, New Trier quarterback Patch Duda connected with T.J. O’Donnell from 22 yards out and a pair of interceptions by Brendan Deloach killed consecutive Glenbrook South (6-2, 2-2) drives to secure the victory.

“We knew they were doing crossing routes, so I just stepped in front of it,” said Deloach, describing his first interception.
