It’s Craig. Daniel Craig.
The makers of the next James Bond film chose Craig, the British actor whose last major role was in “The Jacket,” to fill Pierce Brosnan’s tuxedo jacket.
“I had a couple of martinis when I found out,” Craig said after Friday’s announcement.
Craig is the first blond Bond and only the second Englishman to play the suave British superspy. He’ll star in “Casino Royale,” an adaptation of author Ian Fleming’s first Bond novel.
With the new role comes a new level of media glare for Craig, who had to sidestep questions about Kate Moss and Sienna Miller–both tabloid fixtures whom he has reportedly dated. “I’m not going to get into that,” he said at a London news conference.
