Mimi Abrams, nee Nathanson, age 78, beloved wife of the late Dan; devoted mother of Jodi Abrams Wein and Karen Selznick (Steven) of Longwood, FL; cherished sister of Joan Engel (Ken) of Santa Ana, CA; adoring grandmother to Lauren, Dana, Danny and Rachel; loving aunt to Sheri Gail (Barry) and Keith Engel; also mourned by her devoted caretaker, Estella Watts, who never left her side. Mimi was a loyal and devoted volunteer at Highland Park Hospital for over 30 years, as well as Mother’s Aid Gift Shop of Chicago Lying-In Hospital in Glencoe. Mimi was a lifelong Chicago resident, growing up in Hyde Park, and raising her family in Highland Park. Mimi remained fond of her community growing up in Hyde Park and maintained many of those childhood relationships throughout her life. Mimi was the head bridal consultant at Bonwit Teller, prior to raising her family. Mimi was blessed with family that loved her, and with friends that adored her. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 3 p.m. at Weinstein Funeral Home North Shore Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
