I am a Cubs fan. I have watched my team faithfully for years and would be overjoyed if they were to reach the World Series, if only for the sake of our beloved Ron Santo and Pat Hughes. That said, however, I am also a Chicago booster and am equally thrilled that the White Sox have made it this far and have the chance to go all the way. They seem like a great bunch of talented guys, with a terrific manager, who manufacture runs the old-fashioned way and play beautifully together as a team.
In this troubled time with grief and disasters overseas and here at home, it is such a delightful reprieve to see this group succeed. I’m proud that they represent our fair city!
