The Woodstock Police Department has started a call-in program for residents 65 and older who live alone and don’t have a friend or relative to check on them, officials said.

Seniors enrolled in the program will be asked to check in with the police between 6 and 10 a.m. each day. If a call is not received, police will make welfare checks.

Those interested in enrolling must complete an application and waiver form and give police a key to their home for emergencies.

Applicants can call office manager Tamara Reed at 815-338-6787.
