Tim Brasic is making up for lost time. In his previous three years at Illinois, the first of which he spent as a redshirt, Brasic played fragments of two games. His only entry on the stat sheet was one incomplete pass.
Now, just past the midway point, the junior quarterback is leading the Illini in total offense. He is averaging 252.2 yards per game, with 1,271 passing yards and 242 rushing.
Running back Pierre Thomas is Illinois’ leader in all-purpose yards, with an average of 136.2. The junior leads the team by a wide margin with 369 rushing yards and 325 kickoff-return yards and is fifth with 123 receiving.
Sophomore safety Kevin Mitchell is the leader in tackles with 35, and redshirt freshman Remond Willis is second with 34.
Sophomore Jason Reda leads the team in scoring with 43 points on 10 of 14 field goals and 13 extra points. Thomas is the touchdown leader with four, followed by Brasic and running back E.B. Halsey with three apiece.
