Wheaton Academy let Indian Creek know which was the boss in a Timothy Christian sectional semifinal game Thursday in Elmhurst. The Warriors used quick goals to set up a 4-0 win.

After rising from a hard first-minute foul, junior forward Alex Earl scored inside the near post on a 20-yard restart 1:22 into the game.

“If you come out slow it gives them the thought process of `We’re in this game,'” said Earl, who finished with two goals and an assist. “We wanted to put them out early. We want to win four more games.”

Senior Jason VanderVeen scored 1:34 later on a low Bryan Burke restart serve from near the corner for a 2-0 lead.

“This is the most intensity we’ve come out with in the five minutes [this season],” said VanderVeen, who collected his 20th and 21st goals of the season. “We came out with a lot of passion.”

Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Seager earned the shutout for Wheaton Academy (14-6-4).
