As a proud conservative myself, to say I am mystified by the knee-jerk criticism on the part of other, prominent conservatives of the Harriet Miers pick for the Supreme Court is an understatement. Their complaint that we don’t know enough about her, considering that she hasn’t yet appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee, makes no sense. Isn’t that what the process is for? Kindly let us see for ourselves, before anyone decides she isn’t qualified. Or would that be too much to ask?
