I recently returned home from a 10-day business trip to New York City. This was just one of my many business trips to New York throughout the year. I spent 10 days in a hotel and had breakfast, lunch and dinner out. The restaurants were packed for dinner, regardless of the night, and wait times were 30 minutes to two hours.
New York City has a non-smoking ban in all restaurants and it has not hurt their business at all. This has been the case when I have been there in November, January or October.
It’s time to wake up, Chicago, join the 21st Century and become a leader and not a follower. A non-smoking law in our restaurants is not going to hurt business.
