Brett Morse can’t leap tall buildings in a single bound, but the Hinsdale Central quarterback did his best Superman impression as the host Red Devils defeated Lyons 35-14 in a West Suburban Silver game Friday.
Morse ran for 127 yards, scoring on runs of 2, 35 and 57 yards. On his 35-yard touchdown run, Morse leaped over a diving Lions player at the Lyons 10.
“We treated this game as if it was a playoff game,” said Morse, who also completed 10 of 18 passes for 103 yards. “Our record may just be 6-3 but we’re a team to be reckoned with. We’re rolling at the right time.”
Hinsdale Central is 3-3 in conference play. Lyons is 5-4, 4-2.
