Thomas Thornton O’Neil, formerly of Long Grove, IL, 76, died October 22, 2005 in Reno, NV of lung cancer. He was born October 4, 1929 in Cleveland, OH. He served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953 and was discharged with the rank of Second Lieutenant. Tom married Margaret Wilson in September 1958. They lived in Illinois, where their two children were born, before moving to Reno in 1987. They enjoyed a 33 year marriage until Margaret’s death in 1992. In 1992, Tom founded Galena Resources, Inc., a real estate development company and built custom homes throughout the Reno area. He is survived by his son, Kevin (Sue) of Barrington, IL grandson; daughter Kim (John) of Yosemite National Park, CA; grandson Shane of Barrington, IL; and five siblings, Sally Rastatter of Euclid, OH, Jane Kochenderfer of Portland, OR, Hugh O’Neil of Potomac, MD, Dennis O’Neil of Golden, CO and Bill O’Neil of Spring Grove, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walton’s Sparks Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Ln., Sparks, NV 89531, 775-359-2210. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 28th at 11 a.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6490 S.
