James C. Paddock, 60, of Cary, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington after a short illness. He was born October 7, 1945 in Utah to James A. and Helen Paddock. On August 26, 1972, he married Janet L. Willert at the First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, IL. He was self-employed as a Manufacturers Rep, selling industrial equipment. He grew up in Cedar Rapids IA, where he attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and Regis High School. Later, he graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, IA with degrees in Sociology and Psychology. After college, he moved to the Chicago area. Jim was a sports enthusiast and avid Bears fan. In the summer he enjoyed riding his jet ski on the Fox River, and could occasionally be seen driving his 1968 Camaro. Jim was known for his big heart, great sense of humor, and tasty barbecue sauce. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and pets. Survivors include his wife Janet; his son Brian of Cary; his daughter Megan of Cary; his sisters, Pat Smith of Salt Lake City, UT, Margaret (Dale) of Fairfax, IA, and Ruth of Cedar Rapids, IA; his brother Mike (Debbie) of Boulder City, NV; 10 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Helen L. Paddock. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 28, at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs, 5250 Wolf Road, Western Springs, IL.
