We’d never advise someone to lie on their resume, but if Lucy Lawless wants to do a little fibbing we might let it slide.

The “Xena: Warrior Princess” star has gone from “Sci-Fi babe” to “I get to battle zombie roadkill possum? Where do I sign?” She stars in the CBS Sunday night movie “Vampire Bats.” And if you’re wondering, yes, that’s the sequel to CBS’ “Locusts.”

At least Lawless has no delusions of seriousness, telling The Associated Press: “It’s really fun, and the people who make it are fun. They don’t take themselves too seriously.”

Boy, that’s refreshing. Here are other killer movie villains we aren’t taking very seriously.

“Tremors” (1990)

VILLAIN: Alien thingy that attacks from underground

KILLER POWER: Uncanny ability to keep killing people in small Southwestern town without convincing them to hop in the car and drive someplace safe, like, say, the peaceful town down the street.

“Poltergeist” (1982)

VILLAIN: An angry tree

KILLER POWER: Trips people with roots, clutters yard with leaves and–oh, yes–tries to eat small children.

“Octopus 2: River of Fear” (2001)

VILLAIN: A giant octopus

KILLER POWER: Anger, fueled by the haunting memory of watching young professionals eat his relatives one Tako Maki sushi plate at a time.

“Arachnophobia” (1990)

VILLAIN: Lethal South American spiders

KILLER POWER: Causes ordinary citizens to wave arms like first-year karate students for fear of walking into a web.

“Night of the Lepus” (1972)

VILLAIN: Suddenly carnivorous mutant rabbits

KILLER POWER: Healthy lust for the blood of our nation’s carrot juice drinkers.

“Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!” (1978)

VILLAIN: Mutated tomatoes

KILLER POWER: Stains dress shirts and slacks, some of them … irreparably.
