Werner M. Wichmann, 87, of Raleigh, North Carolina, born Nov. 22, 1917 in Crete, IL, passed away at Freeport Rehabilitation & Care Center, Freeport, IL on Oct. 22, 2005. He was the son of Theodore John and Alma, nee Harlof, Wichmann. He was the beloved husband for 64 years of Alice D., nee Diersen, of Raleigh, NC, whom he married on June 29, 1941; loving father of Allan (Jennifer) of Anaheim, CA, Gerald (Barbara) of Raleigh, NC, James (Doris) of Anaheim, CA and John (Diane) of Freeport, IL; proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters. Mr. Wichmann graduated from Concordia College in River Forest, IL, he went on to become a Lutheran School Teacher for over 35 years serving our Lord in Kansas, Chicago and Michigan. Visitation will be at Hirsch SpindlerKoelling Chapel, 507 Exchange Street, Crete, IL, Friday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 424 Indianwood, Park Forest.
