George Deak, age 93, born in and lifetime resident of Homewood, beloved husband of Rachel Deak, nee Hogg; loving father of Marsha (David) Beard; cherished grandfather of Jonathan and Stephen Beard; dear brother of Joseph and the late Susan Saul, Helen Schaefer, Margaret Spaulding and John Deak; dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Active member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Homewood. Avid golfer, train enthusiast and master practical joker. Retired watchmaker for Mays Jewelers in Homewood and Noral Jewelers in Palos Heights. Visitation Friday, Oct. 28, 3 to 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 18022 Dixie Highway in Homewood. Funeral Saturday 10:30 a.m. at 1st Presbyterian Church of Homewood, 17929 Gottschalk in Homewood. Mr. Deak will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of Service. Interment Washington Memory Garden.
