– Maybe Nicollette Sheridan just didn’t want to be a desperate housewife. Sheridan, who plays Edie Britt on “Desperate Housewives,” and Swedish actor Niklas Soderblom have called off their engagement, People magazine reported Wednesday. The couple “have parted ways after a year and a half,” Sheridan’s publicist, Nicole Perna, said in a statement.

– What’s the latest buzz at Starbucks? The coffee giant and Virgin Records will co-release a CD of rare Rolling Stones remixes, B-sides and hard-to-find live recordings, the band announced on its Web site Wednesday. “Rarities: 1971-2003” will be in Starbucks stores and other U.S. and Canadian retail outlets on Nov. 22.

– A virtual Frank Sinatra will star in a show on London’s West End next year, nearly eight years after the singer’s death, producers announced Wednesday. The dancers and orchestra members, who will be alive, will accompany a video projection of the singer. The show uses home movies of Sinatra from the 1950s–restored, colorized and projected onto screens in the theater. “It’s as if you are watching the concert because you are seeing footage of him in his prime, heard as if he is performing in front of you,” said Sinatra’s granddaughter A.J. Azzarto.

– Rapper DMX faces 60 days in prison after pleading guilty this week to violating the conditions of his release following a car crash last year at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, officials said. He is to be sentenced Nov. 17.
