An attorney representing developer Ray Plote has told residents of the Boulder Ridge subdivision in Lake in the Hills that Plote will not turn over a building being used as a real estate office when ownership of the upscale golf community is transferred to a homeowners association.
Attorney Warren Fuller said Plote would retain ownership of the office building at 99 Boulder Drive, which he leases to ERA Advantage Brokers Inc.
About two dozen residents from the subdivision attended a Village Board meeting Thursday. They have asked that the building, which was originally used as a construction and sales office, be torn down.
Fuller said the transfer of property to a homeowners association could be years away.
Village trustees voted 5-1 to allow the building, which resembles a ranch house, to continue to be used as an office on the residentially zoned land. Trustee Ray Bogdanowski opposed the measure.
