I think I’ll retch if I hear one more coastal-dwelling bellyacher complaining about the slowness of federal disaster relief because he or she chose to buy, build and live in an area that is susceptible to hurricanes.

Uncle Sam is not a rich relative who should have to bail you out every time Mother Nature does a tap dance on your collective heads.

Buy insurance.

And if you can’t afford it, move somewhere where hurricanes don’t occur.

Also as far as I’m concerned, anyone who chooses to stick around when a hurricane strikes deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

It’s like, “Gee. I’m standing on a railroad track and I see a train coming, but I’m not gonna move.”

Good lord people.

What are you, stuck on stupid?

Try using some common sense.
