Is 50 Cent ready to beef with Kanye over President Bush?
50 Cent talked to contactmusic.com about West’s now-famous statement that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” West’s words, in response to the widely perceived slow rescue response for hurricane victims, aired during a Hurricane Katrina telethon in September.
Apparently, 50 begs to differ.
“I think people responded to it the best way they can,” 50 said. “What Kanye West was saying, I don’t know where that came from.”
50 Cent also offered his two cents on the disaster itself: “The New Orleans disaster was meant to happen. It was an act of God.”
Thanks for clearing that up, 50.
Ch-check it out
Fifty Beastie Boys fans were allowed to get up close and personal with the band–and they caught it all on film.
An upcoming documentary directed by Beastie Adam “MCA” Yauch uses footage from fans armed with hand-held Hi8 cameras supplied by the band at a 2004 Madison Square Garden gig.
On Tuesday, ThinkFilm announced that it will distribute “Awesome: I [bleepin] Shot That,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is expected to be out next spring, but for those who can’t wait, the BBs will release a 15-track greatest hits album, “Solid Gold Hits,” on Nov. 8.
Pitt peeve
Brad Pitt put up with photographers following him and girlfriend Angelina Jolie on the beach, but when one came right up to his Malibu home, he’d had enough.
Pitt called police Sunday night after catching a paparazzo peering through the window of his home after he returned from a day at the beach with Jolie and her children, Maddox and Zahara.
Pitt’s publicist, Cindy Guagenti, says the prying photographer bolted from the scene as soon as he was discovered. Pitt reported the intruder to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department, but the paparazzo managed to escape.
“If they continue to trespass, they will be arrested,” Guagenti told E! Online.
Guagenti also shot down British tabloid reports that Pitt and Jolie, who have yet to officially confirm their romantic status, were rumored to be planning a Buddhist wedding.
“It’s not true,” the rep said. “It’s completely made up.”
Biggest gainer
You’ve heard of “Fat Actress,” now meet “Fat Talk Show Host.”
Proving that she’ll go to any lengths to grab ratings for her new talk show, supermodel Tyra Banks (below) reveals that she went undercover as an obese woman to explore what life would be like livin’ large.
“It seemed like the last form of open discrimination that’s OK, and I decided to put on a 350-pound suit myself and live that life for a day,” she tells AP Radio. “And it was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life.”
Tyra adds that “within 10 seconds, a trio of people looked at me, snickered … and started pointing and laughing in my face.”
This is not the first time Tyra (right) has gone to extremes. She had a plastic surgeon examine her breasts on camera to prove they are real. And in an upcoming show, she’ll reveal her “dimpled butt” and receive an endermologie (fat kneading) treatment.
`Desperate’ eats
Joey Buttafuoco has been found, not that anyone was looking.
Buttafuoco, who made headlines in the 1990s when teenager Amy Fisher shot his wife, is–get this–working the concession stand on the set of “Desperate Housewives,” according to Inside TV magazine.
Buttafuoco, 49, sells protein shakes and ice cream to the stars of “Housewives,” “Crossing Jordan” and other Hollywood sets, the magazine reports.
