Give 50 a chance

How are you going to say 50’s new movie is not worth seeing, and you haven’t even seen it yet? (“50 Cent just doesn’t fit the bill,” Nov. 9 column by Kyra Kyles) Now, I do agree with you on some things like all the beef he’s trying to create, but I think it’s kind of bogus for you to just shoot down his movie.

50’s no good

I am so happy that Kyra Kyles blasted 50 Cent (“50 Cent just doesn’t fit the bill,” Nov. 9), he deserves it. I have never liked him and what he stands for. I’ve never heard of being happy that you got shot nine times. What kind of mess is that?

Misogynist sushi

I was disgusted when I saw the article about a woman’s body used as a serving plate (“Naked Sushi,” Nov. 8), and not because it is eating raw food off a stranger’s body.

This is just another avenue to make a profit from the dehumanization and objectification of a woman’s body. Customer Fred Vega even refers to the woman at his table as a “garnish” and compares it to going to a strip club.

I understand this restaurant is willing to do anything for business, but surely they could have come up with something more creative. Maybe they could try serving tasteful food instead of using tasteless shock gimmicks to attract customers.

Ticked off at T.O.

In response to the “Second chances,” Nov. 9 sports story, I am a Philadelphia native and a devoted Eagles fan. As in the aftermath of every disaster, people always look to control the damage and blame someone other than themselves. Apology not accepted.

[T.O.] brought this on himself. While some may say that the Eagles knew what they were getting into, conduct agreements and a financially restrictive contract tried to curb his behavior from the start. Suspensions and fines during the summer attempted to make him see the light concerning his disturbing behavior.

Unfortunately, his ever-expanding ego and slimy, devil-whispering-in-your-ear agent created the train wreck we see today. He is to blame for the tension, discord in the locker room and disintegration of teamwork.

His toxic behavior has been handled gracefully by Donovan McNabb and the rest of the team and, while they lost to Washington on Sunday, they played like the team I remember last season. The Eagles have been known to never renegotiate contracts. I hope they stick to their guns and rid themselves of the poison once and for all.
