In response to the “Stop Ivins” and “Different Viewpoints” letters published Nov. 3, I think all the ranting about columnist Molly Ivins is ridiculous. Twenty years ago you had to be a Socialist to be called “extremely left,” now you only have be just left of center. For years the Tribune has had conservative columnists on its pages and liberals have not written demanding the removal of these columns. Ivins is a great writer whether you agree with her opinions or not. The problem isn’t that she is liberal, the problem is that some readers are not tolerant of others’ viewpoints.
