A look at Greenspan’s legacy
“Greenspan’s Legacy: An Economy Out of Balance” will be presented Saturday by Paul L. Kasriel of The Northern Trust Co. and sponsored by the American Association of Individual Investors, Chicago Chapter.
Kasriel, who is senior vice president and director of economic research at Northern Trust and co-author of a book titled “Seven Indicators That Move Markets,” will discuss his perspective of how outgoing Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan is leaving an economy fraught with risk and how the current volatile investment environment evolved. He will discuss households running record deficits, the U.S. trade balance running record lows and an overheated housing market.
Saturday’s event begins with a coffee reception at 9:30 a.m., followed by the program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the University Club of Chicago, 76 E. Monroe St.
The cost is $20 before Wednesday and $25 at the door. To register, send a check to: AAII Chicago Chapter, P.O. Box 1146, Chicago, IL, 60690-1146. Include your name, e-mail and phone number.
