The Tribune’s Voice of the people section is starting to resemble a liberal support group. Of the eight letters in the Nov. 13 edition, six were anti-President Bush, one was slanted anti-war and only one leaned somewhat pro-Bush by supporting Dennis Byrne’s column that questioned Joe Wilson’s credibility.
Liberals don’t need more encouragement and self-congratulation; they need diversity of viewpoints to help expand their limited horizons.
I do find the Commentary page of the Tribune to be reasonably balanced, which makes me wonder if the Bush-bashers read anything other than the columns that support their biases.
As a non-liberal, I don’t mind reading Molly Ivins’ left-wing rants; I find they actually help reinforce my own viewpoint. But I would like to see the Tribune put Ann Coulter up against her.
