FACT: One week after returning a missed field goal 108 yards, the Bears’ Nathan Vasher (No. 31) intercepted two passes Sunday for the NFC North leaders in a 13-3 victory.
FOOTNOTE: That Vasher kid is good. Really, really good. But … uh … Mike Brown would’ve taken those to the house! … Oh, you were thinking it!
FACT: The NFC South-leading Panthers (7-3) saw their six-game win streak end.
FOOTNOTE: You know Carolina was thinking all week that the Bears hadn’t “played anybody.” I guess they still haven’t.
FACT: Adewale Ogunleye had three sacks, and Alex Brown (right) added two and forced two fumbles.
FOOTNOTE: Sacks are what’s in style this fall. Just look at what Mary-Kate Olsen (left) is wearing.
FACT: Muhsin Muhammad had six receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown against his former team, but he also dropped several passes, including one in the end zone. Kyle Orton was 15-of-26 for 136 yards, with a TD and an interception.
FOOTNOTE: Not quite Montana to Rice yet. More like South Dakota to couscous.
FACT: None of the Bears’ previous wins were against teams with winning records.
FOOTNOTE: No product of Chicago has been as awkward looking yet successful since Joan Cusack (right).
FACT: One week after winds whipped through Soldier Field at up to 47 mph, there was just a light breeze.
FOOTNOTE: Obviously the wind is holding out for a new contract.
