– Musician Pete Doherty, the sometime boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss, was arrested in London on suspicion of drug possession, authorities and the rocker’s spokesman said Thursday. Doherty, 26, was stopped as he was driving erratically early Wednesday, according to Metropolitan Police spokesman Tony Linkin, who said that officers found “substances” in the vehicle. Moss recently completed a stint at a rehab center.
– “Law & Order: SVU” actress Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, are expecting their first child together. Hargitay, 41, met Hermann, 38, on the show, where he has a recurring role.
– Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan was reported in stable condition Thursday after undergoing surgery in Bombay for an intestinal ailment. Fans organized gatherings at temples to pray for Bachchan’s speedy recovery. The actor, who has appeared in more than 150 Indian movies over three decades, was admitted to the hospital Monday after complaining of stomach pain.
