Scott Stapp gave arms wide open a new meaning–as in open with fists.

The ex-Creed frontman (below) and members of the band 311 reportedly rang in Thanksgiving in a Baltimore hotel lounge with a brawl.

According to The Associated Press and mtv.com, drummer Chad Sexton was with bandmates SA Martinez and P-Nut watching the Lakers game on TV when Stapp approached them saying, “311, I am ready to fight.”

Sexton said the band tried to defuse the situation, but that Stapp later was confrontational with Sexton.

“All of a sudden, he clocked me in the left side of my face,” Sexton said. “Then a huge fight broke out.”

One hotel security guard says 311, not Stapp, brought on the melee. There was no comment from Stapp’s representatives or record label.
