Peter J. VanDerLinden, age 85, at rest November 30, 2005. WWII Navy Veteran Fighter Ace of the Fighting Squadron Eight (1943 to 1968). Beloved husband of the late Dorothy VanDerLinden, nee Bennett; loving father of Royce (Kenneth) Angus, Jann (James) Thompson and Karey (J. Geoffrey) McGowan; dear brother of the late Edward (Nancy) VanDerLinden; dearest grandfather of Amy (Dr. Stefan) Nemeth, Peter (Sonja) Thompson, Julie Thompson, Megan McGowen and Jillian McGowen; great-grandfather of Angus Will Nemeth and Rory Nemeth. Mr. VanDerLinden was inducted into the Military Aviation Hall of Fame of Illinois and a member for many years in Rotary Club of Joliet where he received the Rotarian of the Year Award. He was proud of his participation with the Laraway District School Board. Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, December 3 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook.
