Sara Wright Zaluga, age 58, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on November 29, 2005. She was born in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Rodney and Dorothy (Thiele) Wright on February 21, 1947. Sara earned her Undergraduate degree from Monmouth College and her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Illinois University. She taught 3rd and 4th grade for 12 years before moving to Arizona 11 years ago, where she worked as a substitute teacher. She was also an Officer of the Day Volunteer at Scottsdale Healthcare Shea and was active at Scottsdale Bible Church. Sara was a devoted single mother who had the strength and determination to fight pancreatic cancer for 15 months so she could see both daughters graduate from college. She also battled Multiple Sclerosis for 28 years. Her daughters, Amanda and Anne Zaluga of Scottsdale, her sister, Patti (Kevin) Cronin of Madison, WI, and one aunt Betty Landreth of New York, and her dog, Codie, survive Sara. The family of Sara Wright Zaluga will be receiving friends at a visitation from 12 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday December 7, 2005 in the Ronan-Moore-Finch Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Reverend Laura Crites of the First United Methodist Church of DeKalb officiating. Burial will follow services in Fairview Park Cemetery DeKalb.
