Apparently, Comedy Central’s plans to air four episodes’ worth of sketches from the aborted third season of “Chappelle’s Show” don’t sit too well with Dave Chappelle’s camp.

“Comedy Central is not going to obtain Dave’s return by releasing material that he has not approved or that doesn’t meet his standards,” rep Carla Sims told The Washington Post. She added, “Flowers still work.”

But Comedy Central chief Doug Herzog insists the network isn’t trying to force the wayward comedian to come back to work. “It’s not like Dave’s Osama bin Laden and we’re trying to smoke him out or something,” he told the Post.

“We tried to wait for Dave as long as we could. We will see what happens in the next couple of weeks,” Herzog said. “We leave the door wide open for Dave to return. … I have no reason to believe he’s going to at this point.”
