Guenter F. Hoffmann, age 68 of Baraboo, WI, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday December 5, 2005 at his residence. Guenter was born on February 24, 1937, in Ziegenhals, Germany the son of Fritz and Anna Hoffmann. He graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL with a degree in Software Engineering. On July 24, 1976, Guenter was united in marriage to Rose Bentley in Tinley Park, IL. He enjoyed the outdoors which included hiking and skiing. Survivors include his wife, Rose of Baraboo; two brothers, Warner (Elsa) Hoffmann and Georg (Doris) Hoffmann; sister, Christa Kraupa; three nephews; a niece; and two great-nephews, all of Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at the Rago-Baldwin Funeral Home, 520 East Street, Baraboo, WI, on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005 at 7 p.m. with Pastoral Associate Greg Layton officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Additional services will be held at Muzyka and Sons Funeral Home, 5776 West Lawrence Ave., Chicago, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
