Larry Nauman, 68, was a longtime employee of Dominick’s Finer Foods and the supermarket chain’s vice president of advertising and public relations for more than 10 years.
Mr. Nauman died of natural causes Sunday, Dec. 4, in his Elgin home.
He spent most of his career in the supermarket industry.

He was vice president of advertising and public relations and company spokesman for 10 years before his retirement in 1991.
“He was very dedicated to his work, and he worked very hard,” said his daughter, Anne Hopp.
Mr. Nauman was born in a small town in Missouri. After his father was killed in World War II, he and his mother moved to Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.
He attended high school at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., and graduated in 1953 at age 16. He attended the University of Chicago for 2 1/2 years as a math major.
After he retired from his position at Dominick’s, Mr. Nauman traveled throughout the United States almost continuously for five years.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by three sons, Steve, Paul and Robert, and nine grandchildren.
