– The Joyce Foundation, an $800 million Chicago philanthropy, said this week that it will boost funding to area arts organizations by 40 percent, to nearly $1.73 million, in 2006. The foundation said new initiatives include expanding creative opportunities for minority artists and encouraging more participation by minorities on arts groups’ boards and staff.
