Three months ago, a cocaine scandal threatened to end Kate Moss’ career. Now, her bad-girl image is the backbone of her appeal.

The firestorm that surrounded the supermodel after she was pictured snorting cocaine has fizzled out. Recently, Moss has picked up a string of new contracts with the likes of Virgin Mobile and French designer label Longchamp and held onto her old ones–including, perhaps fittingly, Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium perfume.

The ultimate accolade comes Thursday when French Vogue, one of the fashion industry’s most influential publications, hits the stands with a December issue (right) devoted to Moss. The tag line on the cover: “Scandalous Beauty.”
