William C. “Bill” Wagner, passed away on Dec. 6 in Glen Ellyn, at age 62. He was born on Nov. 1, 1943 in Plymouth, WI. Bill was an accomplished athlete, swing dancer and saxophone musician as a young man who led a vibrant, active life. After attending Lawrence University as an undergraduate, Bill received his Master’s and Ph.D. at Michigan State. He married his wife, Judy, in 1967 and was the long term Associate Dean of Student Services at Rush University in Chicago. Bill will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, gracious and considerate man who took great pleasure in gardening, golf and grilling (charcoal only) and in his relationships with many friends and colleagues. He is survived by Judy, his wife of 38 years; his son, Scott (Julianne); daughter, Jennifer Wagner; and grandson, Drew. Also survived by his sister, Phyllis (Dean) Whitford of Park Ridge; brother, Gordon (Peggy) Wagner of Marco Island, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was loved and will be missed by many. Memorial visitation Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow, at the Leonard Memorial Home, Ltd., 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Inurnment will be private.
