When man attains the ability to travel to other planets, will he find worlds where cockroaches battle dinosaurs for supremacy or will he encounter beings of intelligence with some characteristics similar to humans? For skeptics, whether they like it or not, thinking the latter is believing in intelligent design. All that is required of the theory is the belief that evolution is predisposed to creating intelligent life. The notion that divine intervention is needed in the process in order to achieve the final result is erroneous. It is possible for evolution to be predetermined simply by the scientific manner in which life forms evolve over time. If the first cells on Earth had an inherent nature to evolve into higher life forms, that would be a form of intelligent design. No notion that the hand of a divine being causes specific events is required.
