WHO: The Junior League of Chicago with W Magazine and Giorgio Armani.
WHAT: Preview party at the Armani store of the accessories collection, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the JLC’s community programs.
NAME GAME: Elizabeth Hurley and Carlos Santana were there, making it sound more like La-La Land than Chicagoland. But this party was about performers of a different sort, namely the JLC members who volunteer for their many projects that focus on at-risk families. By the way, this Elizabeth Hurley is president of the JLC and this Santana is the Armani store manager.
EYE SPY: One Junior Leaguer, browsing with cocktail in hand, said she visits the store only at Christmastime, her budget permitting the purchase of probably “one sock.” On this night, however, she spotted a pair of sunglasses-at $210, the most affordable accessory in the store. So she grabbed them. “These glasses you don’t just throw in your purse. I’ll tell my boyfriend I bought them at Target!”
