– Ashlee Simpson collapsed following a performance in Tokyo and has been hospitalized. The 21-year-old singer had just performed her single “Boyfriend” for MTV Japan on Thursday, when she told the audience she felt sick. She then collapsed in an elevator and was rushed by ambulance to a hospital. Her appearance at the Radio Music Awards on Monday has been canceled.
– A complaint will be dropped against a Connecticut woman who fell from the rafters at Fenway Park during a Rolling Stones concert Aug. 21 if she stays out of trouble for six months. At a hearing Thursday in Boston, a clerk magistrate declined to issue the misdemeanor charge that had been sought by police against Claire O’Leary, 20, of Westport, Conn., who broke both ankles and her wrist after climbing into the rafters, then falling 35 feet to the seats below.
– New Jersey state Sen. Raymond Lesniak is driving a proposal introduced Thursday to create special $50 “Born to Run” license tags for Garden State drivers, with proceeds going to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, a Bruce Springsteen-supported charity. To become law, the bill must be approved by both chambers of the Legislature by Jan. 9 and be signed by the governor.
