David H. Heller, Ph.D., 85, passed away Dec. 19, 2005. Cherished husband of Dvora; devoted father of Lynn (Peter) MacBeth, Miriam (Joel) Bader and the late Lisa Heller; loving grandfather of Lauren, Lisa, Rebecca and Brock; dear brother of Eugene (Reva); fond brother-in-law of Ruth (Joseph) Davis; uncle of Anne, David (Betsy), Lillian (Eddie), Robert, Danny, Marc, Laura (Bruce) and Jan (Chris); great-uncle of Avra, Dalya, Jamie, Mikey, Jared, Noah, Spencer, Jordan and Jonathan. Proud WWII Army Veteran 1st Battalion Medical Detatchment, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. Awarded Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Retired president of Loop College, retired Professor of Biology at Wright College, volunteer at Chicago Botanic Garden for 17 years, board member of The Jewish Historical Society, life member of the Gardeners of the North Shore. Funeral service Wednesday 1:30 p.m. at Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. Skokie. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
