Ignoring advice seems to have paid off for the “Hustle & Flow” director.
As he searched for the star for his flick, Craig Brewer said everybody told him that Terrence Howard shouldn’t get the role because he can be “difficult.”
Howard, who is nominated for a Golden Globe and is on several “Best” lists (see right), tells February’s Premiere magazine that his bad reputation and penchant for trouble started at a tender age. The young Howard set a fire in a wastebasket just to get a reaction and argued with a teacher about evolution.
“I was suspended at least 15 times a year for one thing: insubordination.”
