– Ford says replacement parts used in its recall of 3.8 million pickups and sport-utility vehicles would not be available until February. The parts are needed to repair 1994-02 Ford F-150s, Expeditions and Broncos and Lincoln Navigators recalled over complaints of engine fires linked to the cruise-control switch.

– The Internal Revenue Service says donated vehicles sold at auction cannot qualify for a higher tax deduction available for donated cars sold to needy individuals. New laws that took effect this year limit deductions for cars worth more than $500 that are donated to charity. The rules say a taxpayer cannot deduct more than the charity collected by selling the vehicle. The higher deduction will not be recognized for a car sold through auction even if it went to a needy person.
