Offense

OFFENSIVE LINE

Protection was solid; held Packers without a sack when it mattered. Guard Roberto Garza moved over when center Olin Kreutz was hurt.

Grade: B+

RECEIVERS

Bernard Berrian provided a legitimate deep threat, catching one pass for 54 yards and another for 21. Muhsin Muhammad had a TD catch but needs to reduce his drops.

Grade: B-

QUARTERBACK

Rex Grossman threw for 166 yards and a TD, completing 5 of 6 on the opening drive. But he lost a scoring chance with a poorly thrown pass that was intercepted and went through a 3-for-12 stretch before regaining some consistency.

Grade: C

RUNNING BACKS

The Packers shut down Thomas Jones early, but the workhorse back pounded for 105 yards plus a TD. Adrian Peterson again contributed off the bench and fullback Jason McKie’s blocking was a force.

Grade: B+

SPECIAL TEAMS

Kickoff coverage limited Packers to 19.4 yards per return. Antonio Chatman’s 85-yard punt return for TD was low point. Robbie Gould hit career-best 45-yard FG.

Grade: C+

COACHING

Offensive scheming allowed Grossman and the receivers to exploit opportunities early. Lovie Smith kept his team focused against a pushover.

Grade: B

Defense

SECONDARY

Chris Harris sealed the win with an INT on the last play to make up for pass-interference and face-mask penalties. Unit was saved by Brett Favre’s inaccuracy.

Grade: B-

LINEBACKERS

Lance Briggs missed some tackles but broke up two passes and scored on an INT to bury the Packers. Unit missed too many stops.

Grade: C+

DEFENSIVE LINE

The front four got pressure on Favre, then came in with decisive sacks by Alex Brown and Tank Johnson on two of the game’s final three plays. The Packers were held to 65 yards rushing.
