Ronald “Ron” Hardy, age 59, died early Saturday morning December 24, 2005 in his home after an apparent heart attack with his family by his side. Mr. Hardy was born on September 20, 1946 in Chicago, IL to the late Johnnie and Isabell, nee Hawkins, Hardy. On March 16, 1990 in Chicago, IL, he married his loving wife of 15 years, the former JoAnn Chatfield who survives along with his loving children, Issazle M. Hardy of Chicago Heights, IL, Regenia Hardy, Cynthia (Felton) Armand and Ninea Sykes, all of whom are of Homewood, IL; seven loving grandchildren; two sisters, Fannie Mae Griffin and Jean Morris, both of whom are of Chicago, IL and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a beloved brother, Joseph Hardy who died in 1984. Mr. Hardy retired after 28 years as a Program Director with Kaleidoscope Corp. He is currently owner and operator of R. Eagles Limousine Services and is a faithful member of Hyde Park Seventh Day Adventist Church of Chicago, IL. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Funeral Services will be offered in celebration of Mr. Hardy’s life at 7 p.m. Thurday, December 29, 2005 at Hyde Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4608 S. Drexel Blvd., Chicago, IL, 773-451-0527, with Pastor Michael Horton officiating. Mr. Hardy’s body will lie in state one hour prior to services in the church. At the family’s request there will be private committal services on Friday, December 30, 2005 at Ridgelawn Cemetery, in Gary, IN. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Hardy to the donor’s choice. The Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 W. Ridge Road, Gary, IN, 219-980-5555, is serving the family of Mr. Hardy. Ron will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife, family and many friends. May God Grant Him Eternal Rest.
