Martha Lapsa, passed away Tuesday morning, December 27, 2005, at Lakeview Continuing Care Center in Lawton. Marta was born June 9, 1895 in Cesis, Latvia the daughter of the late Mikelis and Maria (Zalite) Lapsa. Marta, a resident of Wheaton, IL, moved to Paw Paw in 1978. She was a member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo and loved horses, working out doors and keeping in touch with friends. Surviving are 2 nieces, Rute Nielsen, of Paw Paw and Inga Vigants in Riga, Latvia; great nieces, Rita Trallis, of Aurora, IL and Nora Trallis, of Paw Paw. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. A memorial service will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Rev. Leons Viksne officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo.
