There aren’t many celebrities outside of Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez who can break up their marriage and get engaged again in the same year, but Tori Spelling will not be outdone.
Three months after announcing her split from husband and actor-writer Charlie Shanian, Spelling has gotten engaged to actor Dean McDermott, the former “Beverly Hills 90210” actress confirmed to People magazine.
“We’re so incredibly happy and in love. We cannot wait to start our lives together,” the couple said in a joint statement to the magazine.
McDermott, 39, proposed to Spelling, 32, on Christmas Eve in Toronto by riding up to her in a horse-drawn carriage and presenting a diamond and sapphire ring, according to People.
“It was so magical. All the stars aligned. I have never been happier in my life,” McDermott says.
Like Spelling, McDermott ended a previous relationship in September, filing for divorce from his wife of 12 years on Sept. 9.
“It just happened,” a Spelling friend told People. “No one meant any harm to anyone. You can’t help who you fall in love with and who you’re right with.”
