Robert Wright Bairstow Sr., of Atlanta, GA died peacefully in his sleep on December 13, 2005. Mr. Bairstow was born in Waukegan, IL on July 10, 1915. He graduated from Union High School in Phoenix, AZ and from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He was an engineer, an inventor of industrial products and a designer of cable jewelry. He founded a company which became Bairstow Lifting Products Company, which ships rigging products worldwide and is operated by his two sons. He was active in many trade associations, Sand Collectors International, the University Yacht Club and the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He was a member of Christ the King Church in Atlanta and was active in the Boy Scouts and many charitable organizations. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rosina Hourigan Bairstow; his children, Betsey (Dan Morse) Bairstow, Lael (Sid) Yudain, Robert W. (Mary) Bairstow Jr. and Andrew Q. (Lowe) Bairstow; his brother, Richard R. Bairstow of Waukegan and many granchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosina Seydel; his parents, F. Raymond and Mildred Bairstow; and his brother William Royer Bairstow of Waukegan, IL. Services were held December 17, 2005 in Atlanta.
